Dose check03
How do Nervecept ingredient amounts compare with studied doses?
Most Nervecept ingredient amounts are far below research doses. Glucosamine comes closest: 500 mg is one third of the 1,500 mg used in GAIT (Clegg et al., NEJM 2006 (GAIT)).
Chondroitin's 50 mg is one sixteenth of CONCEPT's 800 mg (Reginster et al., CONCEPT trial 2017). Low doses do not prove no effect, and those trials were on joints, not nerves.
| Label line | Per capsule | Share | Amount used in research | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Glucosamine Sulfate | 500 mg | 71.5% | 1,500 mg a day (GAIT trial; usual package dose) (NCCIH, Glucosamine and Chondroitin) (MSKCC, Glucosamine) (Clegg et al., NEJM 2006 (GAIT)) (Cochrane, Glucosamine for OA (2005)) | Mixed for joint pain; no nerve trials found |
| Indian Frankincense (Boswellia serrata)(herb) | 67 mg | 9.6% | About 100-250 mg a day of extract (joint trials) (MSKCC, Boswellia) (Yu et al., Boswellia meta-analysis 2020) | Small joint trials; no nerve trials found |
| Chondroitin Sulfate | 50 mg | 7.2% | 800-1,200 mg a day (CONCEPT and GAIT trials) (Cochrane, Chondroitin for OA (2015)) (Clegg et al., NEJM 2006 (GAIT)) (Reginster et al., CONCEPT trial 2017) | Small, mixed effect on joint pain; no nerve trials found |
| Turmeric (Curcuma longa)(root) | 50 mg | 7.2% | About 1,000 mg a day of curcumin (arthritis trials) (NCCIH, Turmeric) (MSKCC, Turmeric) (J Med Food, turmeric meta-analysis 2016) (Silveira et al., turmeric animal review) | Weak and mixed; nerve data only in animals |
| Quercetin (Sophora japonica)(bud) | 8 mg | 1.1% | 500 mg a day or more (blood pressure trials) (MSKCC, Quercetin) (Serban et al., quercetin meta-analysis) | Mostly lab and small human studies |
| Methionine | 8 mg | 1.1% | Dietary need is about 1 g or more a day from protein food (MedlinePlus, Amino acids) | No nerve trials found at this amount |
| Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) | 8 mg | 1.1% | Well tolerated up to 4 g a day (joint and muscle studies) (Butawan et al., MSM review 2017) | Small joint studies; no nerve trials found |
| Bromelain (Ananas comosus)(stem) | 8 mg | 1.1% | 540-1,890 mg a day (osteoarthritis trials) (NCCIH, Bromelain) (MSKCC, Bromelain) (Bromelain for OA, review of studies) | Mixed; small joint and swelling studies |

What is not in the Nervecept ingredients list?
The Nervecept ingredients list has no vitamins at all. There is no vitamin B12, B6, B1 or benfotiamine, folate, biotin, alpha-lipoic acid, acetyl-L-carnitine or PEA.
The sales-page FAQ mentions biotin and a proprietary blend, and one FAQ answer names another product. The label shows eight ingredients with exact amounts, no blend and no biotin, so this site follows the label.
Interactions06
Which Nervecept ingredients can interact with medicines?
Four Nervecept lines carry blood-thinner cautions: glucosamine and chondroitin may raise INR on warfarin (MSKCC, Glucosamine), and turmeric and bromelain may add to bleeding risk (MSKCC, Turmeric) (MSKCC, Bromelain).
Quercetin may affect how some drugs are broken down (MSKCC, Quercetin).
Never stop or cut a prescription for a supplement.
Shell and allergen07
What are the other ingredients in a Nervecept capsule?
The other ingredients are hypromellose, the vegetable capsule shell, and rice flour, a filler. The label adds "CONTAINS: Shellfish (Crayfish)." Crustacean shellfish is a major allergen U.S. labels must name (FDA, Food Allergies).
Every printed word is on the supplement facts page, and the allergen has its own shellfish page.

FAQ08
Nervecept questions people ask
How many milligrams of actives are in one Nervecept capsule?
699 mg. Glucosamine sulfate is 500 mg, boswellia 67 mg, chondroitin and turmeric 50 mg each, and the four small lines 8 mg each. The shell and rice flour are not counted in that total.
Why does a nerve formula like Nervecept have no B vitamins?
The label does not say why. It lists no B12, B6 or B1, the vitamins most tied to nerves. Low B12 can cause numbness, and metformin can lower it, so ask about a blood test (NIH ODS, Vitamin B12).
Does Nervecept contain alpha-lipoic acid?
No. Alpha-lipoic acid is not on the label. Its neuropathy trials mostly used 600 mg a day, and the clearest effect came from intravenous doses (Linus Pauling Institute, Lipoic Acid). Ask your doctor first.
Which Nervecept ingredients are joint supplements?
Three of the eight are sold mainly for joints: glucosamine sulfate 500 mg, chondroitin sulfate 50 mg and MSM 8 mg. Together they come to 558 mg, about 80% of the 699 mg of actives in one capsule.
Are the Nervecept ingredients from plants or animals?
Both. Boswellia, turmeric, quercetin and bromelain come from plants, and the shell is plant-based hypromellose. The glucosamine comes from crayfish shells, and chondroitin usually comes from animal cartilage, though the label does not name its source.
Does Nervecept contain caffeine, sugar or sweeteners?
None is listed. The label shows the eight active lines plus hypromellose and rice flour, and nothing else. No caffeine, sugar, sweetener, flavor or color is printed anywhere on the bottle.
